Our Story

Early Beginnings

Dr. Lazarus and Lois Seruyange were led by the Lord to set up a place of worship in Kileleshwa in 1985.  Prior to this, there was no church in Kileleshwa.  They attended the Nairobi Baptist Church and led their Bible study group to start the original church in 1986. It became one of the first church plants of the Nairobi Baptist Church and was called the Kileleshwa Community Church [KCC]

It was subsequently led by Rev Dr. David Kitonga, Pastor Joshua Karani, and Pastor Rodgers Achieng over different periods of time

After going through a period without a Pastor, in 2007 the church under the guidance of Elders from both KCC and The Nairobi Chapel were led of God to merge with a daughter church of The Nairobi Chapel called The Covenant Church, resulting in the birth of the Kileleshwa Covenant Community Church (K3C) in January 2008 under the leadership of Pastor David Githugu.

In September of 2008, Pastor Ken Kamau was commissioned by the Elders of K3C into the Senior Pastor role. A role he served in until May 2017 when he responded to the bidding of the Lord, to plant a church in Sydney Australia. The eldership of the church then appointed Pastor David Obuki into the role of Senior Pastor, which he occupies to date

In 2011 K3C transitioned into what is now the Tandaza Ministry [Tandaza being the Swahili word for spread] upon God’s direction for the Ministry through Isaiah 54:2

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch (spread) your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”

K3C has since gone through a season of growth from the humble beginning in 2008 to a vibrant multicultural congregation across six churches

Tandaza

“Panua mahali pa hema yako, na wayatandaze mapazia ya maskani yako; usiwakataze; ongeza urefu wa kamba zako; vikaze vigingi vya hema yako”
